The first update delivered by Pinboard itself.

New

• 📜 Version History… in Settings › General › Updates opens what's new in each version.
• ☕ Leave a Tip… in Settings › General: Pinboard is free, and a tip helps keep updates coming.

Richer sticky notes, a new Style tab, and Pinboard now keeps itself up to date.

New

• 🔄 Automatic updates: Pinboard checks for new versions once a day. When one is ready, a dot appears on the 📌 in the menu bar; click Update to … in the menu to install it. You can also use Check for Updates…, and choose in Settings › General › Updates whether updates install by themselves.
• ✍️ Note formatting: bold, italic and underline (⌘B / ⌘I / ⌘U), bullet lists that start when you type "- ", and handwriting, sans or serif fonts, even within one note.
• ☑️ Checkboxes in notes: type [ ] to add one, then tick it right on the desktop.
• 🎨 Style settings: choose how new photos and notes look (including the note font), with a live preview.
• 📋 Pasting into a note keeps bold, italic and underline; Paste as Plain Text (⌥⇧⌘V) drops them.

Improved

• 🗂️ The pin's right-click menu is grouped (content, look, position, copies & boards), with colour swatches for notes.
• ↺ "Straighten" is now called Reset Rotation.

Fixed

• 💾 Opening Pinboard a second time while it was already running could wipe your boards. It no longer does.

• 🗂️ Boards: keep separate sets of pins (Work, Travel, Moodboard…) and switch with ⌃⌥B or ⌃⌥1–9. Manage them right from the menu bar: right-click a tile to rename, change its icon or delete it, and drag tiles to reorder.
• 📝 Sticky notes in five colours, with checklists you tick right on the desktop (⌃⌥T).
• ↩️ Undo & redo everything with ⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z: moves, resizes, styles, crops, notes, removals and boards.
• ⌨️ Global shortcuts: Peek above your windows (⌃⌥P), add photos (⌃⌥N), hide (⌃⌥H) and gather pins (⌃⌥G) from any app.
• 🧲 Duplicate a whole selection with ⌘D.
• 💾 Safer data: daily backups, and a damaged save file is kept aside instead of overwritten.
• ⚡ Faster and lighter: photos load off the main thread, and big pins stay sharp on Retina displays.
• 🖼️ Transparent images (stickers, logos) keep their transparency.
• 💻 Runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
